DGNconform^® Version 4.1 - The MicroStation Office Manager

Perth, Australia, 1 March 2004 - Corporate Montage today announced the release of DGNconform Version 4.1. This new version provides a more perceptive solution for managing data standards in the MicroStation office with new functionality that presents the ability to create, validate and assure DGN file data more easily than before.

DGNconform V4.1 takes a practical approach that corresponds to the way users work, unlike complicated measures of outmoded CAD standards systems. DGNconfom provides users the ability to easily create and maintain drawings to a set standard, minimizing the need to rework or correct symbology during and at the end of a project.

Intelligent Drafting Tools

As a user-oriented system, new features and capabilities in DGNconform V4.1 are dedicated to making managing CAD standards within any organisation a straightforward task. Such a new feature is the ability for administrators to lock users to individual databases and to specific Feature Tables within a database. This is particularly useful when there are several Feature Dictionaries in use for various projects. When the "Locking" feature is coupled with the new "Auto-Start Draft" option, users will have the draft menu automatically open with the corrected Feature Tables when DGNconform loads.

To streamline the drafting process further, DGNconform V4.1 has an automatic key-in recording ability that allows administrators to record Drafting Menu key-ins for each feature. The key-ins allows users to automatically draft according to standards defined in the DGNconform Feature Dictionary. When a feature is selected from the Feature Table in the draft menu, the symbology for the feature and the command that the feature is to be drawn with is automatically set and applied for the user.

Enhanced Cell Support

DGNconform V4.1 provides comprehensive support for cells., with its own cell selector for placing cells. Cells can be matched on cell library, cell definition and cell level. During conforming, replacement cells can now be chosen from the DGNconform Cell Selector.

Effortless Creation of Feature Dictionaries

DGNconform eliminates complex setup of dictionaries and feature tables with its extensive File Import capability. Taking into consideration that some organisations may have other files with data standards, Feature Dictionaries can be created by importing various file formats into DGNconform such as ASCII files, CSV files, Bar Menu files and SiteMenu Text files. With DGNconform v4.12, users can now import a larger range of files including Steel Definition files, Database Tables, Settings Manager, J/Check RDL files and GDM ASCII Rules files.

Report and Certify DGN files

DGNconform can scan, verify and report on the integrity of design files. DGNconform V4.1 can report on individual DGN files or batch report on a series of files by drag and dropping files to the Report Generator. Additionally, reporting can also be done on reference files. The Report Generator provides administrative reports that range from summarised information to specific details on individual errors found in the DGN file(s).
