DGN File Standards Made Simple for Louisiana Department of Transport and Development

Houston, USA - A vast number of projects are organised each year by the Louisiana Department of Transport and Development to improve the State's infrastructure. With this file and DGNconform Consultants Edition (CE), provided free to external consultants by LaDOTD, consultants are able to draft to LaDOTD standards from the beginning. Furthermore, consultants are able to check and correct their drafts based on LaDOTD's prescribed rules reducing errors and without having to bear any overheads. The process of manual verification of drawing submissions by the LaDOTD is eliminated using DGNconform. Digital submissions of reference files can be verified and validated quickly as reporting can be conducted on one or several design files at a time. This automated operation simplifies the workflow between LaDOTD and consultants and assists in reducing time from project start to end. Mr. Ward describes DGNconform as a mature and efficient tool for drafting LaDOTD plans. Essentially, DGNconform Server and Consultants Edition work together to become significant components in stringent quality control procedures and quality assurance for the LaDOTD.

DGNconform works similar to a spell-checker giving users the ability to draft and convert design files to defined symbology requirements. DGNconform has the added power of Report Generation allowing project administrators to report one or several design files at a time.
